My academic and life experiences have resulted in a very well-rounded and diverse individual. With a passion for the study of art through history, and a view of the world through the lens of an art educator and designer, she considers the world her classroom.
I earned a bachelor of fine art in studio art at the University of South Florida, Tampa, FL and a masters of theological studies from Bethel Theological Seminary, St. Paul, MN.
With the world as their classroom, I home educated our two daughters through high school; both are successful, independent, well-educated, lovely young women; she is very proud of them both!
Since 2009, I have been an adjunct professor teaching art history and 2D design for Concordia University, St. Paul and intercultural studies for North Central University, Minneapolis. My passion is developing cultural literacy in her students so they recognize and appreciate art in the world around them.
Since 2006, I have lead students and adults on educational tours to England, Ireland, France, Germany, Austria, Italy, Greece, Israel, Jordan, Egypt–as well as New York City and Washington D.C. My desire is to develop the skills in my students of all ages to feel confident and competent to explore the wonders of the world on their own.
