“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.” -St. Augustine
Hi! My background and life experience in education, art and design permeates every aspect of my life. I will not only uncover details of whatever project I am working on–but also explain how it fits into your life and your journey.
My passions includes the study of art and history through travel and the exploration of the world’s sites and museums. During the disruption in travel during the COVID-19 Pandemic of 2020-2022, I explored many wonderful local sites in my back yard – and encourage you to do the same during every season of your life! My blog on Cher’s Famous Art provides a journey through the pandemic!

Bio: My Story
My academic and life experiences have resulted in someone who I feel is a very well-rounded and diverse individual. With a passion for the study of art through history and travel, and a view of the world through the lens of an art educator and designer, I consider the world my classroom.

Consulting
I love to explore the world around me, locally and internationally. And beyond my personal ventures, I love to help others to experience their world–no matter where it takes them. When I think about it, I have been helping and guiding others–like you!–explore their world all my life!

Travel
The world – my classroom – and what a great classroom it is! As I transition from teaching in the classroom to sharing my discoveries in this blog – I invite you to join me as my fellow traveler – and student! Join me as I continue my adventures into the world in my Backyard, my Country (the United States) and the World!
Travel
“The world is a book and those who do not travel ready only a page.” ~ St. Augustine
This blog reflects my Travel Experiences in two aspects: Our Backyard (both locally and in the USA) and the World. Initially, it literally began with Travel Dates in our Backyard.
TRAVEL DATES IN OUR BACKYARD: The pandemic slowly released its grip on us. During the summer of 2021, I embarked on Travel Dates with my favorite fellow traveler, my fabulous husband, Skip – as well as other friends. We explored the world and world-class cities just outside my back door through the eyes of traveler as if I am visiting here for the first time. I look forward to having you join me! ~Cher

Travel Dates in Minnesota 2021-22: exploring the world in the world class cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul – in our back yard!

Art
Art often mirrors life–or at least serves to reflect it.
ART TO SURVIVE THE PANDEMIC: Art can serve as a distraction–or release–and is a way to help us survive difficulties in life.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit the world by storm in mid-March, 2020, I looked to art as a distraction–and release–and first posted my findings on Facebook. It helped me to not focus on all the bad news and negative and depressing postings that engulfed the postings–and encourage others to do the same. They are posted here as a blog, with additional depth about the artists, the works of art and the museums where these artworks reside. I share how they relate to what is going on in the world at that time. I hope that you will be inspired to see them in person someday as the world opens up again for you to explore the world through travel!
